How can I fix a "SIM Card Rgistration" error on my mobile?
-
Turn off your phone, and remove the SIM card. It’s a small piece of plastic with a gold chip, and it’s usually in a slot underneath the battery.
-
Wipe the gold contacts of the SIM card carefully with a soft cloth.
-
Blow some air into the area where the SIM card sits, in case there’s dust or hair in the slot.
-
Replace the SIM card and battery, restart your mobile, and see if the problem is fixed.
-
If there’s still a problem and you can borrow another mobile, see if your SIM works in that handset. If it does, then the problem is probably with your mobile, not the card.
Next steps:
-
If your SIM card seems to be faulty, Email SlimTel Customer Care for replacement or contact us for assistance.
-
If your mobile phone seems to be faulty, call manufacturer for assistant or go to a nearest repair shop.
-
If you need help troubleshooting a SIM problem while you’re overseas, please call us on 1300 788 840 from another phone and we’ll do our best to help. (International call rates will apply.)

Blocking the mobile handset?
Once a handset is reported as lost or stolen, its IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) can be blocked so that a user cannot make or receive either TXT or voice calls, with the exception of emergency calls.
The IMEI is a handset’s serial number that can be obtained by switching on the mobile and typing in *#06#. Vodafone Customer Care Representatives are able to determine your handset’s IMEI.
If you request your handset to be blocked, SlimTel will try to do so within 24-48 hours. However, in some cases we may be unable to block handsets.
Note: It's possible that some handsets share the same IMEI numbers. If you request a handset block which affects another customer’s use of their mobile, SlimTel may not block the original handset.
Barring the SIM card
Barring the SIM card will stop all incoming and outgoing calls from that SIM whether it is in your mobile or someone else’s.
There's no charge to have your SIM or mobile blocked.
Note: Blocking a handset or SIM does not terminate your contract with Vodafone. You may continue to be liable for ongoing monthly access fees for the remaining contract period, if you are on certain mobile plans.
What happens if I find my mobile?
If your mobile has been found and you wish to unblock it, please contact Vodafone on 1800 638 638 or from overseas on +61 414 141 414.
How can I extend the ring time of my mobile before it diverts to the voice mail?
You can extend the ring time on your mobile allowing you more time to answer the call before it diverts to Voicemail. The ring time can be set for 5, 10, 15, 20 or 25 seconds (25 seconds is maximum time). The amount of ring tones is dependent on the tone you have set up. For any other issue you can contact us.

Vodafone coverage within Australia?
Vodafone's 3G network covers more than 94% of the Australian population. GSM (2G) network covers up to 94% of the Australian population. Our GPRS (2.5G) network covers 92% of the places you live and work in Australia.
As part of our Vodafone network plan we are rolling out a network on a new frequency, 850MHz.
The 850MHz frequency provides a number of advantages for our customers. Because of the lower frequency (compared to other frequencies used on the Vodafone network), 850MHz is able to better penetrate through obstacles - such as buildings. This improved signal strength means data can be transmitted to a compatible device faster than when there is poor signal strength.
You can check the location of existing 850MHz sites and where we're planning to introduce additional 850MHz coverage by visiting our New Network Page.
You can also check our Network Status page for any outages affecting your area
