What is Voicemail?
Whenever you can't take a call, Voicemail automatically transfers callers to your personal Voicemail box. Your Voicemail box works like an answering machine. You can pick up messages and return calls when it's convenient for you. To access your messages you only have to remember one number - 121. You can dial this number from your mobile phone anywhere in Australia and from many countries around the world.
Voicemail also has a range of exciting and flexible options for sending, receiving and storing voice messages, which makes it easier to manage your business or your social life.
What is included in Voicemail?
- Quick access to messages. Your last message is heard first. And you don't have to listen to deleted messages.
- Longer message times, up to 5 minutes per message.
- Unplayed messages will now be saved for up to (7) seven days, instead of just (3) three days.
- Wake-up and Reminder calls are also available so you never miss a meeting or an important event.
- Create group lists with up to 20 names in each, so you can send one message to the group instead of calling everyone individually.
- More Fun greetings to choose from. Select a pre-recorded greeting that suits you, to amuse the caller when they leave a message.
Setting up your Voicemail service
Just dial 121, then simply follow the voice prompts to:
- Register your personal security code (as above).
- Record your name for use in your greeting.
- Record a Personal greeting of your choice.
- Select your Time Zone Location setting. The default setting is NSW local time.
Setting up a Personal or Fun greeting
Why settle for a Standard Greeting when you can select a Personal or Fun Greeting? A Personal Greeting is a customised greeting that you can record yourself. A Fun Greeting is a pre-recorded greeting that says something about you. You can listen to the selection and choose from our extensive list. To set up a greeting:

- Press 3 to change your personal preferences
- Press 1 to change your greeting, then follow the Voicemail prompts
Replying to Voicemail messages
Once you listen to a message, you can reply instantly, by using the Call Return function. As soon as the message is over, dial 0 and you're put straight through to the caller. If the message left is from a private number, you're given the option to enter a phone number.
Diverting calls to your Voicemail
When your phone is switched off or you're on another call, calls will be instantly diverted to your mailbox. If you prefer not to answer calls or are in an area without coverage, you can also choose to divert all calls to your Voicemail service. This is helpful when you want to make calls, but don't want to receive them.
- To divert all calls to Voicemail - Dial 1212
- To cancel all calls being diverted - Dial 1213
- To divert on 'no answer', 'busy' or 'unreachable' - Dial 1211
